Aquilon
The Aquilon is a hobby compact Omega-shape boomerang, quite wind-proof.
The Aquilon is a hobby compact Omega-shape boomerang that eases the catch without compromising on the natural ability of this shape to react well in the wind.
The distribution of the masses on the outer ring is the main advantage of this geometrical boomerang configuration. This makes it possible to achieve long trajectories by having a relatively light boomerang (so cool…).
Its size, 300mm wingspan, allows it to flirt with the 45m range, ideal on the beach with a laminar wind. The return is carried out on low trajectory if the Aquilon is properly thrown, but keeping a slight gliding typical to hobby boomerangs. It allows a huge range of throwing angles, which makes him the perfect boomerang linking hobby and fun !
The "Omega" shape is a typical of the years 1960 to 1980, nevertheless it remains a basic and effective shape in many sectors of the boomerang throwing.
Many boomerangs have taken up this timeless design with more or less success, the best compromise of this time being definitely the Delicate Arch of Jim Mayfield.
